PERI-PERI chicken lovers are flocking to Nando’s renovated outlet in Juffair for its addictive flame-grilled taste.
The international franchise continues to offer sensational, succulent and spicy Afro-Portuguese fare in well-decorated surroundings, which feature wooden elements along with bright pop-art and African-inspired prints.
Alexander Balitaan, operations manager for Alazzam Group, the trading group which includes restaurants such as Nando’s as well as retail and real estate, said: “We could tell that our Juffair clientele missed us as they would rush over to our second branch in Zayed Town to get their PERi-PERi fix.
“Nando’s in Zayed Town has done very well and our new-look Juffair outlet, which is back in action, is also doing great. Our customers have already noticed the difference as it is now a lot more similar to the one in Zayed Town.”
Nando’s was founded in 1987 when Fernando Duarte invited his friend Robbie Brozin to a Portuguese eatery in the heart of Rosettenville, South Africa, to try some mouth-watering PERi-PERi-marinated chicken. It was love at first bite for the duo which led them to the decision that others had to share in their delight.
Nando’s prides itself on using Grade A chicken that is trimmed of excess fat and is marinated in its secret PERi-PERi sauce which has customers clamouring for more.
The marinades are so popular that bottles of the spicy goodness are sold at the venue for BD1.400. There are different flavours of wild herb, garlic, mild, hot and extra hot, catering to individuals’ taste buds.
