The Whisperer recently witnessed an act of road rage on Bahrain’s roads. Just as he was getting into his parked car to proceed to the office, he heard a screech of tyres and got out of his car to see what the commotion was all about.
One huge American car had blocked a pick-up truck travelling in the first lane which almost caused another big vehicle to run into the pick-up. The Arab then got out of his car, went towards the pick-up driver, who also appeared to be an Arab but was not wearing a thobe, and started shouting, unmindful of all the honking going on around him.
He also just left enough space for other vehicles to squeeze past his car without causing a scratch. Since the verbal volleys were in Arabic, The Whisperer could not make out the gist of it.
Luckily, matters cooled down quickly as the car driver noted a lady getting out of the passenger side of the pick-up. He got into his car after delivering another verbal volley and drove off allowing the smooth flow of traffic. The Whisperer had the feeling that if the lady had not been there then chances of fisticuffs were high.
