Best deals under one roof

GULFWEEEKLY’S Camille Jones has a nose for a bargain and we’ve let her loose around the towns of Bahrain, the malls and the independent outlets.

Bahrain City Centre is definitely my favourite place to shop because everything is under one roof and, right now, sales are aplenty.

This is not unbeknownst to others because the car park is constantly packed with eager shoppers. This makes it quite hard to keep my current fail-safe (always-find-car) strategy. If I frequent any location I pick the same spot so that I can always find my car. It is close to impossible to do that in the City Centre car park.

I usually have to do the over-the-shoulder visual check of surroundings, zone numbers and colour of floor as I slowly walk to the entrance triple-checking my parking location. This paranoia comes from panic situations where I have been searching for my car for over half an hour. I even had a helpful citizen pick me up to help me find my car one day.

I am happy to inform you that Pull and Bear is having their annual blowout sale. They will be slashing prices until their stock is cleared. I met with store manager Fouad who was very helpful in pointing me to the popular men’s section. He said that since it is winter all the male shoppers are snatching up their popular denim that is currently selling like hot cakes.

Right next to their denim they are also clearing their funky graffiti belt collection. I even saw camel cotton trousers down to BD14.900 that would look so smart next to a graphic t-shirt for only BD4.900. But my deal of the week goes to their two racks of chunky winter sweaters that are down to BD9.900.

I saw high-collared ones in burgundy, grey or blue and cable stitch cardigans adorned with wooden toggles in cream, burgundy, blue and light or dark grey. When I first walked in though, I noticed their men’s chinos in warm natural tones for only BD11.900. They come with a belt too. Really cool stuff!

Gentlemen, Bossini is another place that you should stop at because they are holding an end-of-season sale until January 11. Very popular golf polos are 25 per cent off making them super cost-effective at BD5.300. At this price you can buy one in each colour. They have a large embroidered golfer icon crest and come in white, mustard, purple, teal, black and cobalt blue.

It would seem logical to check out the winter gear that is conveniently part of the sale. Black bomber vests, biker cut jackets, varsity wear, hoodies and various other timeless items made with quality material enable a few seasons of wear. You can revamp your whole casual wardrobe because they have such a large assortment. I also saw plaids, cotton shirts, graphic t-shirts and solid colour polos for only BD4.500.

Take the whole family because they also cater to women and children with their token comfortable energetic style. You will leave humming Pharrell Williams’ new hit Happy and be right along with the Bossini motto. Saving money makes everyone smile.
