Mentors for future entrepreneurs

Tamkeen has enlisted a team of distinguished mentors and judges for its Youth Business Plan competition, Mashroo3i, which aims to instil and promote an entrepreneurial culture within the next generation of Bahrainis.

The selected experts, six mentors and three judges, are playing a vital role at every stage of the contest – from providing mentorship to finally selecting the winning teams.

They are Basim Al Saie, managing director and founder of Installux Gulf a joint venture Bahraini-French company; Damien Balmet, vice-president, investments in the private equity team in Mumtalakat; Deema Al Haddad, founder of DeemZ Jewellery; Fahad Al Shirawi, founder and CEO of GCCIX; Hassan Al Balooshi, founder of Bahrain Blinds and Safa Sharif, founder of MASY Holdings.

The judging panel is made up of Dr Jameela Al Mahari, professor at the College of Business Administration University of Bahrain; Hazem Janahi, founder and managing director of Vanguard and Joseph Kirikian, vice president, investments at Mumtalakat. Sixty teams submitted their business plans last week.
