Gulf Weekly Curry festival launches range of new dishes

The Yellow Chilli restaurant in Seef Mall is holding a month-long curry festival and is inviting dinners to sample the range of new dishes on its menu.

Indian Ambassador Mohan Kumar and his wife Mala attended the event.

The Indian cuisine restaurant is a concept from renowned celebrity chef Sanjeev Kapoor, who stars in the TV series Khana Khazana, the longest running show of its kind in Asia.

Along with a variety of non-vegetarian and vegetarian curries, the menu also features Nalli Rogan Josh, Sorson Maachh, Meen Moilee, Kombadicha Rassa, kukkad saagwala and many more from all parts of India.

Santosh Sharma, executive chef at the The Yellow Chilli restaurant, said: “I’m really excited about this. The aim of the festival is to make different varieties of Indian curries known to food lovers in Bahrain. Not just Bahrainis, but expats too, the curry festival is not to be missed.”

Chef Santosh has years of experience under the guidance of Mr Kapoor, and has his recipes down to an art.

Keeping other nationalities’ tastes in mind the festival also offers a variety of breads like Khamiri Naan, Appam, Bikaneri Paratha, Laccha Paratha, Naan and more from the live Tandoor.

Apart from the festival menu, the restaurant will run its current a-la-carte menu as well as other meal options.
