The new Audi A3 sedan was launched in sophisticated style during a special ceremony at Al Areen Palace & Spa.

The latest addition to the Audi line-up boasts a lightweight design, strong, efficient drivetrains and many high-end infotainment and driver assistance systems, the company says.

Geetan Jessen, Audi Centre Bahrain dealer principal, said: “The A3 sedan presents a very unique opportunity for the Bahrain market, bringing a number of high-end features combined with competitive and attractive pricing. We have received tremendous interest in the model and have no doubt it will be a very popular addition to our existing range.”

The premium compact sedan starts with a curb weight of just 1,250kg for the four-door 3-litre TFSI with S tronic. The interior boasts a modern and straightforward design and the 425-litre luggage compartment can be extended by folding down the rear seats.

As with other models in the range, the A3 Sedan has a comprehensive range of infotainment modules; top-of-the-line options include a Bang & Olufsen sound system and MMI navigation plus. The sleek 7-inch screen extends electronically from the instrument panel. The turn/push control is designed as a ‘touchwheel’ with MMI touch – its surface is a touch-sensitive pad for inputting letters and numbers.

The optional Audi connect system complements the MMI navigation plus. Passengers can use their mobile devices via a WLAN hotspot integrated within Audi connect. The driver benefits from navigation via Google Earth images.

A broad assortment of assistance systems also bolsters the A3. They range from adaptive cruise control to Audi side assist, Audi active lane assist and the park-assist system with surround-view camera to the safety system Audi pre sense. The driver information system with rest recommendation is standard. Individual options such as Audi adaptive light and a panoramic glass sunroof are taken directly from the luxury class.

The model comes in two varients, a 3-litre TFSI and 4-litre TFSI engine featuring power outputs of 122bhp and 180bhp respectively. Both engines are paired with a S tronic dual-clutch transmission. The 4-litre model is optionally also available with quattro permanent all-wheel drive.

Prices start from BD 9,440.
The A3 is on display at Bahrain City Centre mall from today until Sunday.
