Pairs of players were out again at Awali Golf Club competing in the Johnnie Walker Foursomes, sponsored by BMMI.
In breezy conditions and with the course now taking on brown autumnal colours, Peter O’Brien and Peter Rogers proved their play was both harmonious and on-form, returning as the winners with 41 points, well clear of the rest.
The format sees pairs of players take alternate shots, allowing a player to demonstrate their competence at diplomacy in the face of an errant shot from a partner, as well as golf.
Prizes were presented by club captain Steve Brown on behalf of BMMI, with runners-up going to Paul Anderson and Mark Hodgkinson (37 points), Isa Ahmed and Nevil Malao in third place and Essa Al Qutami and Mohammed Rashid in fourth place, both pairs losing on countback.
