All eyes were on the GulfWeekly/Citroen-sponsored Arsenal Soccer School Bahrain Ladies League Second Division title race this week.

Seef Dental and Arsenal U18s lined up in a potential title decider and the Gunners took on RCSI at Soccer City in Janabiya.

With both matches being played in a dust storm that hit the kingdom, conditions were very difficult for the players and goals were in short supply.

With only a point separating the U18s and Seef Dental at the top of the table, losing the game was not an option that either team wanted to consider.

Both teams ensured that they defended with determination, but were also looking for the goals that could make such a difference at the end-of-the-season.

Having already fought out one draw this season, the teams knew that this match could go either way.  Seef broke the deadlock in the 16th minute with an excellent unstoppable volley by Karin Bashir and held the lead until the 42nd minute when Hayley Kunde grabbed an equaliser for the U18s.

In the other game , the Gunners, who have exceeded all expectations in their inaugural season in the league, found themselves up against RCSI who have lost all of their games, but have achieved their goal of competing and improving as the season has gone on.

Despite constant Gunners pressure, they were unable to score due to some solid defensive work by the RCSI team, so with the result ending 0-0, the points were shared.

This week’s action sees the two divisions concluding matches, with TFA Joga playing the U21s tonight, the 18s against RCSI tomorrow and Seef versus RCSI and the U18s against the Gunners on Saturday.
