We were so pleased to receive a glowing review for our production of Arthur Miller’s, ‘The Crucible’ in GulfWeekly. Thank you to your team for taking time out to cover our play and we are so pleased that Ms Hassan enjoyed it! Our School of Speech and Dramatic Arts looks forward to inviting you to many more productions in the future.

I realise how difficult it must be to remember or include everyone involved in the review. However, in this case all our cast and production team were mentioned with the exception of three extremely crucial members of the our wonderful team.

My co director and producer Kanwal Hameed deserves a congratulations on such an effective and moving production, Said Eldajani who played the important part of Reverend Hale and did so brilliantly and finally the talented young Hisham Hussain who really shined on the stage with his presentation of Parris.

I enjoyed reading your report in last week’s GulfWeekly on the 11th British Schools in the Middle East (BSME) Games staged in Abu Dhabi.

It was a real roller-coaster ride for parents who travelled from Bahrain to support the children. The St Christopher’s School BSME football team, for example, provided a series of action-packed performances which encompassed seven games in total.

The boys performed magnificently in scorching temperatures and ended their qualifying games undefeated. As an indicator of the high level of competition the semi-final went into extra time without either team scoring, leading to a penalty shoot-out. Accurate kicking and a superb final save by the goalie saw St Chris advance into the final.

It was, however, a case of deja vu with the exception of the result, but the boys were magnanimous in defeat and were worthy ambassadors of the kingdom and the school throughout the competition.

It was an emotional time for all the parents, teachers, fellow students and support staff but truly a memorable one. Well done, boys.
