However the quick-thinking team, in a show of solidarity for one of the parents, Rebecca Jones, used the paddles to send a message to Qatar. Scribbled on every board was the message Bring Adam Home in a clear sign that they believe Rebecca should be reunited with her 14-year-old son after a four-year battle.
They also want to see their pal back behind his desk at St Christopher’s School.
The stadium TV cameras were quick to pick up the cause as they broadcast the image across all monitors designed to keep spectators in touch with the action.
Will the voice of the children be heard by the court in Qatar considering the custody issue focusing on how Adam ended up living with his uncle after his mum was tricked into signing Arabic papers she did not understand? We all await a fair verdict.
