Five Hundred Year of Islamic Calligraphy - Masterpieces from SakıpSabancı Museum (Turkey) will continue through to April 13 at the Bahrain National Museum.

Bait Alqous’s The Diving House will be opened on April 13. 
Educational workshops will be held for young talents to enhance their skills. They will be offered free of charge for people who sign up in advance and will feature international artists and bands such as the Very Hungry Caterpillar and the Chinese Aerobatic band.
Workshops will be offered in cooperation with the Ministry of Education, the Royal Charity Organisation and Arabian Gulf University, including a week-long sand painting workshop.

The British Club in Umm Al Hassam will host a ‘Mayday Madness’ evening on May 1. A seven-piece ‘Madness’, tribute band, from the UK will be performing at 7.30pm. Tickets priced BD23 for members and BD25 for guests include food served from a variety of cooking stations throughout the club.

The British Club will also stage its annual Birdman of Bahrain competition on May 16. Budding aviators will attempt to fly the length of the British Club Pool once again. The Amwaj Marina Obstacle Challenge charity event will be held on May 30 at Amwaj Marina. There is a 4km grueling obstacle course where participants will carry a 20kg weight over 70m in a 1m depth in the sea, crawl through mud, climb up and down inclined walls 5m’s high and through uneven terrain. Its BD15 per participant. The briefing session is on May 23 at Amwaj Marina at 3pm.
