A new salon has opened in Zinj offering 25 per cent off services until May 1. Prestige Gate Salon and Spa by ZEN provides everything from hair services to honey milk baths.
My colleague Bambi Manalese, GulfWeekly’s sales co-ordinator, tried the milk bath which normally costs BD12, but was only BD9 thanks to the offer. She said: “First I enjoyed 15 minutes in a steam room and I could feel all my pores opening up afterward leaving a really fresh feeling. I then moved to a massage room where I was scrubbed for 25 minutes with spa salts, oil and honey which felt more like a massage than a scrub. I felt I would squeak if rubbed, that is how clean I felt. “I later moved to the Jacuzzi room where I showered off the salt and oil before heading into the Jacuzzi tub filled with warm water scattered with rose petals. “Milk was slowly poured on to my back. After 15 minutes I dried off and my skin felt baby soft. I plan to repeat this every month in the summer because I believe it helps increase blood circulation and skin renewal.” I didn’t bat an eye when offered the eyelash services because I wanted a new experience and have seen so many women wearing their falsies with pride. It took about an hour or so to apply and I was told it would last for two weeks. When I eyed myself in the mirror my lashes looked natural but much fuller. The cost is only BD11.250 with discount. A friendly, skilled and professional team and the aesthetician, with over 11 years of experience in the industry, has recently arrived from the Philippines. The salon is open daily from 9am-8pm.
