Youth talk

The youth of today have a really bad reputation; we’re thought to be vapid, self-obsessed and spoilt on the luxury associated with the 21st Century. Incapable of thinking about the wider world and definitely unable to articulate whatever meagre thoughts we do have. Joan Jett may have claimed that she doesn’t ‘give a damn about [her] reputation’, but I do.
 
I’m Hemangini Raina, by the way, a Year 12 IB student studying at St. Christopher’s School who enjoys reading (and watching) Game of Thrones, geeking out over Marvel movies and tracking stock markets.

I’ve got a special place in my heart for crime dramas; regardless of how repetitive they seem. I’ve lived in Bahrain for the past eight years, and I am your voice; speaking on behalf of Bahrain’s youth and expressing an opinion that is often unheard.
 
We’re perfectly capable of contemplating the fragility of human existence, while watching multiple episodes of Keeping up with the Kardashians. Maybe even at the same time because, honestly: how long can we hope to exist if Kim Kardashian’s life makes for an engaging evening?
