Meat-lovers grab your bibs and get ready for an evening of juicy, lip-smacking carnage with platefuls of tender lamb chops and flavourful chicken skewers at Crowne Plaza Bahrain’s ‘one-of-a-kind’ Steak Night.
La Mosaique, the popular 24-hour dining venue better known for its tasty Friday brunches and Thursday seafood night, has been attracting carnivores across the kingdom with its bountiful Angus beef and white meat selection on a Wednesday evening.
The family-friendly restaurant, which can seat around 140 patrons comfortably, is transformed into a Western-theme corral with country music serenading diners as they tuck into all-you-can-eat Tex-Mex dishes, mouth-watering grills and a buffet of scrumptious sides.
Subash Sadasivan, the Crowne Plaza multi-outlet’s manager, said: “We have received great feedback from our customers as they love the variety we have on offer. People from all over arrive early to get the most out of their evening and always end the night with a smile on their faces.
“Our kitchen team members, especially Chef Sara, are very meticulous about the way they prepare the meat, making sure to get every cut grilled just right and to each customer’s preference.
“We have had evenings where we reached full capacity at our venue and our serving team is always on hand to ensure that our guests enjoy a great dining experience.”
The GulfWeekly party including my better half Sam and Assistant Editor Charlie Holding, put the Steak Night to the test last week.
Before moseying over to our tables, we checked out the joints and cuts of meat on display. There were chicken skewers, lamb chops, a variety of steaks including T-bone, tenderloin, rib eye and sirloin, a mixture of kebabs, kofta, tikka and fajitas.
We placed our orders at the meat counter with a lovely waitress wearing a cowboy hat. Sam, who has a record of gobbling up six steaks on one night, went for a variety of lamb chops, sirloin and rib eye.
Charlie opted for tenderloin, rib eye and lamb chops. I also chose to sample the lamb chops and threw in a rib eye steak as well.
As the chefs grilled away, we made our rounds stopping over at the Chilli Con Carne station for some hot chilli smothered in sour cream, guacamole and cheese and picked up plates full of mashed potatoes and steamed vegetables.
There is also an impressive salad bar plus an assortment of bread available for side dishes.
When our hot steaks arrived, we barely said a word, grunting as politely as we could at every bite. Within minutes, the meat was cleaned right off our plates and we were all in agreement – the lamb chops had stolen the show.
After a rest, we made our way back to the meat station for another order of steaks and chops.
This time, I chose a medium-rare sirloin which was even better than the rib eye in my opinion, grilled to perfection.
After finishing two healthy rounds of steak, we zip-lined to the dessert buffet for some sweets to counterbalance all the meat, of course.
A filling affair and certainly the place to ‘meat’ on a Wednesday.
Steak Night starts from 7pm until 11pm and is priced BD14.950++ inclusive of food and soft drinks or BD18.950++ inclusive of food and selected beverages.
