THERE are plenty of bargains to be had during Ramadan but shoppers have been advised to ensure the ‘sales’ are genuine.

Ministry of Industry and Commerce officials have spotted that some shops aren’t playing by the rules.

According to the ministerial order (51) of 2007 of regulations regarding discounts, in relation to point 4 of article 2, outlets must show the price of the product before and after the discount.

The men from the ministry of Industry and Commerce urge shop owners to stick to the system as it ‘positively reflects’ on the business as well as enhancing transparency.

And legal action will be taken if this reminder is ignored.
