Children across the kingdom are naturally delighted the summer holidays have started and one school in Bahrain has gone on record about how much fun they’ve all had in the classrooms and playgrounds too.
The much-anticipated St Christopher’s take on Pharrell Williams’ global smash Happy video was finally unveiled at the school’s end-of-year House Assembly.
This year saw the most ever house points being awarded. Events such as a charity bake sale, swim galas, sports days and everyday academic accomplishments and personal achievements all added up to the totals recorded by the four houses.
With around 2,150 pupils from around 70 nations the final results were revealed to an enthusiastic audience of students, teachers and ancillary staff with Falcon coming first, Osprey second, Kestrel third and Merlin fourth.
The assembly was brought to a close with a viewing of the St Chris Happy video. Rebecca Lambert, PE teacher and Happy video director, said: “Thank you everyone for being a part of the happy (ness)! Have a great holiday! And stay happy!”
As reported in GulfWeekly, back in April, Bahrain residents stepped out and took part in a similar video which aimed to highlight the good vibes on the island and promote the kingdom in a positive light.
The creative videography team of JEO Productions roamed the streets, capturing locals and expats dancing and singing along to the catchy tune.
Inspired by Pharrell’s 24 hours of Happy website, which features various celebrities and ‘regular Joes’ dancing in different locations to the upbeat funky song, the team decided it was time to give back to the community and share their love of the kingdom by launching their own version of the Happy video.
