Gulf Weekly Indian Club teams seal quarter-finals spot

Two Indian Club teams – ‘A’ and ‘B’ – entered the quarter-finals of the Indian Club 7-A-Side Indian Expat Cricket Tournament at the Indian Club premises with easy victories over their respective rivals.

Indian Club ‘B’ defeated Wellflow Gulf Mars XI by six wickets in a one-sided match with their opponents being bundled out for just 16 runs in 5.2 overs as man of the match Sachin Upale picked up two wickets for two runs. In reply, the hosts’ team chased down the target and scored 18 runs without losing any wicket in just 1.4 overs. Charan remained not out with 15 while his opening partner Kishan was not out on three.

The club’s ‘A’ team defeated Kansara XI by five wickets with Stanley Fernandes the man of the match after picking up two wickets for six runs. Kansara XI were bundled out for 24 runs in 5.5 overs and the Indian Club team reached the target of 25 runs in just two overs for the loss of a wicket. Dharmesh Kumar finished the match with a six and was the top scorer with 11 runs.
