A top Indian fashion brand is set to open its first ‘shop in shop’ in the Kubra Al Qaseer complex in East Riffa later this month, launching an exclusive collection for Bahrain.

Kala Niketan – The Original will provide the kingdom’s residents with all they need to look stylish this summer.
Hiten Parekh has been the owner of the company for the past 22 years, following in the footsteps of his father, Navneet, known worldwide as ‘the living legend’ of the silk industry.

Hiten said: “I understand the Indian fashion stage which is derived from various cultural influences, economic fluctuations and consumer shifts. This is reflected in all my creations. People know our brand strength and now they will be able to access it here in the kingdom.”

The brand launched its international presence in Meena Bazaar, Dubai last year. The event was attended by model and Bollywood actress Nargis Fakhri and its brand ambassador Uma Ghosh Deshpande, who modelled his breath-taking sarees!

Next year, for the very first time, Hiten will take his concept to Toronto, Canada. I wonder if he will design a lined saree just for the winter? The price point will vary and, according to Hiten, will be available for the ‘masses and the classes’.

The Kala Niketan brand is known for its fusion of intricate textile detail and fine tailoring.

The brand has a presence in Mumbai, Baroda, Bengaluru, Chennai, Pune and Dubai. There are expansion plans for the UAE and Singapore.
