Gulf Air, Bahrain’s national carrier, has announced an increase in flights between Bahrain and Kuwait from 40 to 42 per week with immediate effect.

The two additional weekly frequencies will operate on Saturdays and Sundays, departing Bahrain at 1.15pm, arriving at Kuwait International Airport at 2.20pm and departing Kuwait at 3.05pm, arriving at Bahrain International Airport at 4.05pm, reported TradeArabia.net.

The decision follows an increase in passenger demand between the two countries.

“Our Kuwait-Bahrain route sees consistently high seat factors and in response to the growing passenger demand, the introduction of two more weekly flights to Kuwait should reinforce Gulf Air’s longstanding commitment to our valued neighbour,” said Gulf Air acting chief commercial officer Ahmed Janahi.

“With 42 weekly flights between Bahrain and Kuwait, travellers from across the Gulf Air network can take advantage of our fast and easy connections via Bahrain as we continue to strengthen our GCC and the Mena network.

“We expect to see continuing strong demand on our Kuwait route and will continue to do our best to cater to our customer base there.”

Building upon a relationship that dates back to Gulf Air’s maiden flight into Kuwait City in 1959, Kuwait remains a strategic destination and market for Bahrain’s national carrier.

Recognising the key importance of the Kuwait market for Gulf Air, one of the airline’s high-demand routes, the airline hopes to further develop the market and take advantage of fast-growing traffic from Kuwait by connecting it to various destinations across the entire Gulf Air network.
