Gulf Weekly Al Noaimi on top in gross section

Mohamed Al Noaimi took first place in the gross section and fourth place in the nett section of the monthly DHL Order of Merit competition at the Royal Golf Club. His gross score of 75 was enough to push Hamad Mubarak into second place in the gross division with a score of 78 while Abdulla Al Hakam took third place on gross 82.

Petter Mutti won the gent’s nett category on countback with a score of 71 nett. Taimur Malik was runner-up and Sam Kobeissi third, both also with nett 71.

Debbie Lane won the ladies gross division with a score of 96. Hanne Hansen was second on 99. Their positions were the same in the nett category with Debbie taking first place on 78 nett, with Hanne runner-up on 86 nett.

Taimur Malik clinched the junior nett division of the popular Members’ series with a score of 71nett and Saud Al Sharif was runner-up with 83 nett.

After a couple of months at the top of the overall leader board, Rob Lane now has a rival in Ronan Armstrong with the duo nine points apart for the top spot. Rob’s wife Debbie still holds onto the lead in the ladies order of merit with Sara Thompson 15 points behind.

Over 50 competitors took part in this month’s DHL competition. The overall order of merit winners of all three gross categories will be named in December as the club’s champions for 2014.
