Competition for places at the prestigious colleges in the UK has grown dramatically over the last few years.

Simran Lamba, pictured right, of the British School of Bahrain is off to read Law at Magdalene College, University of Cambridge, having achieved top grades in Chemistry, Physics, Further Maths and Maths.

I am very proud of Simran’s achievements. She has worked extremely hard and her place at the University of Cambridge is well deserved and I wish her well in the next stage of her educational journey. We are looking forward to our universities tour next summer when we can visit her in college.

Khalil Ahmed, Head of Secondary School at BSB.

The Arab world is putting unprecedented efforts to encourage market liberalisation, economic reforms, and grow the private sector in order to create a more competitive and prosperous business environment.

As the Arab-British trade balance is increasing, both sides express interest in the further development and strengthening of relations between the United Kingdom and the Arab world.

In this context, the Arab-British Chamber of Commerce is pleased to be organising the 2nd Arab-British Economic Forum with its partners - the League of Arab States, General Union of Chambers of Commerce Industry and Agriculture for Arab Countries, Jordan Chamber of Commerce, United Kingdom Trade & Investment, London & Partners and British Chambers of Commerce.

The forum, followed by a gala dinner, will focus on the strengthening of relations between the Arab world and the UK and expand the range of opportunities for co-operation, bringing together government officials, diplomats, senior executives and decision-makers from both regions to discuss new opportunities for business partnerships that are emerging in a range of key economic sectors, including investment.

The 2nd Arab-British Economic Forum will be held in London on October 21.
