Husband and wife Rob and Debbie Lane have been crowned BMMI Monday Madness Night Golf Series champions at the Royal Golf Club after achieving a total of 12 points in the six week series.
Steve Middleton and Ashley Price were runners-up with nine points and JP Scerri and Anders Sandstrom came a close third on eight points.
The final competition in the series was played in the Shambles format and was won by the pairing of Ahmed Sultan and Khalid Jassim with a nett score of 32.
There was a four-way battle for second place after the pairings of Petter Nyberg and Nils Berge, Murtuz Zamanly and Wayne Giles, Naeem Khan and Rajinder Sachdeva and Jamie Bowen with playing partner John House all achieved nett scores of 33. Nyberg and Berge were the ultimate runners-up on countback. House won the closest to the pin side contests on holes 12 and 16.
The evening was rounded off with a presentation ceremony in the club’s Members’ Lounge.
A new six-week BMMI Monday Madness Night Golf Series is now underway. The 9-hole competitions are open to non-members at a cost of BD20 per night and tee off with a 6.30pm shotgun start. To register, contact the club’s golf events department on email golfevents@theroyalgolfclub.com.
