Welcome back to the Too Hot to Trot column, with the new season taking us literally by storm. The Dilmun Stables recently hosted an in-house show jumping contest to ease the riders back in gently.

It was a fabulous success, leaving everyone wanting more … and more is certainly what is presently planned.

This Friday, starting at 4pm, the Dilly will stage an Open Show Jumping Event:
* Class 1 – Cross poles Clear Round – timed for Juniors;
* Class 2 – 60cms Clear Round with Jump Off split Adult & Junior;
* Class 3 – 90cms Speed Class Mixed Juniors & Adults.

   It costs BD3 per class. School Horse hire costs BD3. Call 17693766 or email dilmunstables@gmail.com for more details.

On Saturday at 9am, Twin Palms Riding Centre will start its season with an in-house dressage show.

There is also exciting news on the show front across the kingdom. The Bahrain Royal Equestrian and Endurance Federation, better known simply as BREEF, has issued its 2014/2015 schedule, along with an opportunity for all stables to host their own independent show jumping events, without any affiliation to BREEF.

BREEF will contribute BD1,000, subject to terms and conditions, for each event approved by them – up to a maximum of 10 unaffiliated shows for this forthcoming season.

Event organisers will be fully-responsible for the organisation, administration, manpower – including officials – and providing obstacles for the course.

Participants are required to email all details a minimum of two weeks prior to the event to BREEF HQ in order to gain approval.

A meeting to discuss and implement the new concept has been organised for next Wednesday, October 29, at 6pm at the BREEF Federation HQ at the Bahrain International Endurance Village. All interested parties are encouraged to attend.
