The Indian Fine Arts Society is hosting a tribute to the father of Carnatic Music, Saint Thyagaraja, in a festival titled ‘Thyagaraja Aradhanai’ at the Bahrain Society of Engineers Auditorium, Juffair, on January 9 at 6.30pm.
The Chuckle Club Comedy Night is bringing another three shows to the kingdom in January, featuring comedians Sean Donnelly, Brendon Burns and Martin Mor. The first will be at the Rugby Club, Janabiya, on January 14, with a show at the British Club, Um Al Hassam, on January 15 and one at the InterContinental Regency Bahrain, Manama, on January 16. Dr Seuss’s The Cat in the Hat will be performed over three days at the Bahrain Cultural Hall, Manama. The Autumn Fair 2015, Bahrain’s biggest annual consumer products exhibition, will be held from January 21-29 at the Bahrain International Exhibition and Convention Centre in Sanabis. Now in its 26th year, the Autumn Fair is the most widely attended exhibition in Bahrain with over 750 exhibitors from 21 countries showcasing their products from across the globe. A variety of goods will go on sale ranging from specialty food, fashion and furniture to technology, toys and textiles. An outdoor children’s play area, a live band and costume characters also form part of the entertainment.
The Ritz-Carlton, Bahrain Hotel & Spa will host a Bahrain Food Festival on February 27 from 10am onwards. It will start with the Farmers’ Market, which will offer guests a chance to savour a traditional Bahraini breakfast or to refresh themselves with a saffron juice.
