When I was in my early 20s, not only was my New Year’s Eve plans last minute, but so was my frantic search for the most fantabulous dress.
I would always wait until the very last minute to motivate me. I don’t know if it was pure laziness or the fact that I hate making major decisions. I am going to go with the latter.

l Festive with family: When going to a holiday dinner with your family, find something festive, functional and fun. You will be bending down picking up the nieces and nephews so go for an outfit that won’t be too tight or expose anything.
Don a comfy cream fisherman’s sweater with a nice fitted pair of denim, shiny flats and sparkly glam accessories. Jumpsuits are also very flattering and there are so many colours and styles to choose from.
l Dashing date: If you and your partner are heading for a special New Year’s dinner then aim for a dress that fits the curves nicely without being too risqué. Large zippers are all the rage and you can adjust the level of modesty.
Throw on a pair of heels and grab a clutch with your essentials for those powder room touch-ups. Glitter your eyes and don’t be afraid to line the lips with red.
l Glitzy gathering: When ringing in the New Year with a crowd no bling is too much. Go for the gold and keep it real flashy. You will not be short of options because sequins are trending and the larger the better. Think blinking beacon for air traffic to notice you at 40,000 feet.
l Eyes on you: Every lady wants to be the centre of attention so why not be different this year and opt out of wearing a dress.
