A special Swiss gourmet feast will be available every day until March 7 at the Mövenpick Hotel Bahrain’s Silk restaurant in Muharraq. A ‘Berber Women of Morocco’ exhibition is being held at the Bahrain National Museum, Manama, until April 15 as part of the 2015 ‘Year of Heritage’ festivities. It is open from 8am-8pm.
The exhibition will showcase a wide range of objects and photographs in tribute to the women who preserve the Berber culture’s identity.

Friday (February 20) The Baharat restaurant at Le Meridien City Centre Bahrain is hosting a ‘Fizz Fare’ brunch every Friday. Running from 12.30pm-4pm, the brunch will have many varieties of sparkling selected beverages on offer and features numerous international live cooking stations and an assortment of international classics and modern fusions.
The fizzy brunch costs BD30 net, the soft brunch costs BD20 net, kids between six and 12 are half price, while kids below six are free.

The Bahrain International Garden Show will feature a fantastic array of foliage and food for thought at the Bahrain International Convention and Exhibition Centre in Sanabis.
Held under the patronage of His Majesty King Hamad, the exhibition’s theme this year will be ‘Agricultural Training for Sustainable Harvest’, which aims to provide a look into the future of the agricultural sector and ‘agro-preneurs’ and will focus on training opportunities and modern techniques.
The show also coincides with the Bahrain Garden Club celebrating its 50th anniversary and will encourage children to enjoy the experience in the company of Khalasi, a fun-loving mascot that takes the shape of one of Bahrain’s famous dates. The character aims to promote awareness and a love of agriculture and will even feature in a colouring book.
A photography contest entitled Garden at Sunset will feature a range of images of gorgeous greenery. Today is the last day to submit entries.
The show officially opens next Wednesday and will be open to the public from February 26 until March 1 from 10am-9pm.
THE annual charity family fundraising Wheelathlon at the Bahrain International Circuit (BIC) takes place on Saturday with the added attraction of a ‘Duathlon’ after the fun cycling session.
Registration, costing BD5, is on the day and will be open from 1pm until the briefing at 3.30pm and the rules have been put in place for the run-bike-run challenge which will be split into two age groups, 13-15 and 16-18, with prizes for both categories over the same distances of 2km – 5.4km – 2km (run one lap, bike one lap and run one further lap).
Each cycling lap is on the full F1 circuit while each lap running is on a small circuit comprising the main straight (main grandstand) and back straight (Oasis grandstand).
Additionally, there will be a fun duathlon which is open to all children irrespective of age which will involve 5.4km cycling followed by 2km running.
* Participants must wear a helmet during the bike leg and all participants must have it securely fastened from the time they remove their bike from the rack at the start of the bike leg, until after they have placed their bike on the rack at the finish of the bike leg. * Road bikes, mountain bikes and hybrid bikes are allowed. * Participants must wear a bib number, issued on the day, on their shirt at all time. * Cycling inside the transition area is forbidden.
