AL RASHID Group impressed the media and local shoppers with its recent grand opening of 10 new stores in Seef Mall Muharraq.

The festivities were well-planned with a fun party atmosphere of traditional live music, colourful balloons, dazzling décor and savoury canapés and cakes that left us all applauding for more.

The launch event had the media visiting each of the new stores in a musical procession around the new mall and offered me the opportunity to highlight some of the new collections available.

In Splash, a plus-size section for men called ‘Love is BIG’ made a huge impression in more ways than one! There are even outfits for those wanting to look good as they attempt to reduce their size and get fit!

Jayaram Nambiar, operations manager of Splash in Bahrain, explained: “Many shoppers come to Splash specifically for our plus-size clothing. You can find athletic gear, formal wear and casual items in a rotation of trends seasonally. In fact, we have just introduced athletic wear and are currently showcasing the SS15 collection.”

On show in the Italian shop Carpisa were croc printed bags displayed in three different styles and four fun new colours: muted mustard, terracotta, electric blue and black for BD19. A fresh new handbag is always welcome, right ladies?

While peeking in Nose, the popular Malaysian shoe and handbag shop, there were some adorable cherry blossom sling-back sandals and some trendy metallic platforms. It also had metal-glam pumps and trainers. Python ankle boots and pastel checked pumps were also in stock for those wanting to keep in trend. You can even mix and match with coordinated handbags and accessories to complete the look.

Bossini has its children’s SS15 collections retailing as well. I was drawn to a cute boy’s outfit that was paired up in denim shorts for BD11.900 and buttoned-up baby blue shirts patterned with various tiny flags for BD9. The girl’s collection was full of fresh and fun simple graphic prints and bright colours that breathe in time for spring.

Shop for BD15 and get a mug set free with ‘Bossini, be happy’ fun messages.

Steve Madden is also slithering with snake prints in classic colours as well as dyed yellows with pink. My favourite pick was a pair of colourful flats bejewelled all over a floral graphic print. They were stunning and so on trend. You can use these loud accessories when wearing an understated outfit like a shirt dress or plain trousers and blouse.

Vikas Attri, chief operating officer of Al Rashid Group, said: “We are very excited about all the new ventures here. It’s the next big mall in Bahrain and we are very excited to have a significant presence. There were a few places where our group didn’t have a foothold in the market, such as the Arad/Hidd area, Hamad Town and Juffair. Now we’ve crossed one of those off the list and we are well on course in our five-year strategy. We plan to expand into other areas in the future too.”
