Yes to avocados

Whenever I tell people to eat avocados for their health benefits, they tell me they worry about the extra calories from fat. So this week I have to get rid of the fat phobia that I see everywhere.

It’s true that avocados have fat but it’s the healthy kind of fat. The effects of these fats are not the same as fats that you get from animal fats and fried foods.

The oils in avocados feed the brain, soften the skin, nourish the hair and lower cholesterol.

And the best part is that avocados also have a high protein content, vitamins and minerals, and even precious plant-based fibre that everyone needs.

Do avocados make you fat? No. In fact, avocados help the body get rid of excess fat that is harmful for the body.

So when you make your salad today, remember to add the avocados!
