Euro Motors unveiled the new BMW X6 at City Centre Bahrain, the newest X family member, a model that its makers say is ‘powerful and athletic’ with the presence of an X model and ‘athleticism of a coupé’.
Making its debut in the kingdom, the second generation model has already posted global sales of almost 250,000.
Designers say its extrovert design blends the robustness and versatility of a BMW X model with the sporting elegance typical of the brand’s coupés. The interior combines generous space with model-specific sports features.
Further enticing shoppers to the stand was an Instagram competition, in which visitors were challenged to capture a shot of themselves with their favourite design feature of the car to have a chance of driving one for the weekend and a two-night stay at Al Areen Palace & Spa. Hundreds of visitors and social media fans took part, with the winning entry coming from Hassan Al Nasser, Instagram user @7_soon.
Paul Yates, general manager of Euro Motors, said: “The City Centre Mall was an ideal venue to showcase the exceptional BMW X model range, the region’s favourite and bestselling models in the Middle East.”
Other models on display included the BMW X3 and X4 as well as the BMW X5, which was first launched in 1999, with the letter X symbolising a completely new vehicle segment and making a huge impact to the whole automotive industry.
Making its debut as the world’s first Sports Activity Vehicle, the X5 soon became a global sensation. This laid the foundation of a number of additional variants including the X1, X2, X3, X4, X5 and X6.
