THE Renault Captur continues to win admirers across the region and has just received the coveted accolade of ‘Best Compact Crossover of the Year, 2015’

It picked up the prize at a ceremony held at the Ritz-Carlton in Dubai after captur-ing the hearts of judges who suggested anyone who pays any attention to the Captur will ‘fall for its charm’.

“While supercars and ultra-luxury cars battle for top honours on our expansive boulevards, don’t forget that the real fight takes place in congested streets, shopping mall car parks and on school run mornings in crossovers and little compacts,” said a spokesman for the event’s organisers, wheels automotive magazine. In one of the most closely-matched and cut-throat segments, the little Renault came out tops and surprised us all by offering easily the most value for money in a clever, practical package that can’t be ignored.”

Y.K. Almoayyed & Sons launched the new 2015 Renault Captur 1.2L Turbo at an unveiling ceremony at City Centre Bahrain. Designers say they have focussed on its look, roominess, safety features and have made a pledge to offer an agile driving experience.

Paul Baker, general manager of Y.K. Almoayyed, said: “Another facet of the vehicle is that even though the engine is 1.2L, the output performance is 120BHP as a result of the turbo-charged engine.”

The Captur comes equipped with a six-speed dual-clutch Efficient Dual Clutch automatic gearbox and features Renault R-Link, an integrated tablet that is connected to the car and the Internet at the same time.

GulfWeekly’s motoring correspondent Kristian Harrison recently put the Captur to the test and described it as ‘definitely worth looking at with a highly-competitive price’.

The Renault Captur is available from BD5,995 from the Renault Showroom in Sitra. Call 17705705 for more details.
