GULF Irish Food Traders (GIFT) launched its website this week with a food tasting gathering with representatives of the media at the British Club of Bahrain.

Its director, celebrated chef and entrepreneur Dominic Miles, hosted the event with sales director Kate Gibson, putting on a display of fine fare dished up to delight the audience.

“We are delighted to introduce our new e-commerce site, facilitating online ordering and home delivery for our customers,” said Dominic at Monday’s launch event of the site set up with support from the team at East Innovations.

“It’s been designed with our clientele in mind – making sure it is easy to navigate, clearly represents our brands and that the ordering process is smooth and simple. We offer home delivery to anywhere in Bahrain, Saturday to Thursday.”

Sausages, belly strips, large chickens, haddock, cod and salmon, duck and pizza are some of the most sought-after products, alongside a range of sweet sensations including ice-cream, cheesecake and gateau, plus lemon meringue pie.

“At GIFT we are passionate about food,” said Dominic. “We believe that it must be wholesome, fully traceable, where feasible additive-free, and of exceptional quality.

“We source our products very carefully; we get to know our suppliers to ensure they are passionate about their products and work as ethically as we do.

“The foods GIFT sell are the same ones we are happy and confident to feed to our families, knowing that they are getting the best that nature has to offer,” added the father-of-two.

GIFT offers the GCC markets a variety of Irish and UK food items including major brands, artisan goods and niche products.

“It has all been through our rigorous approval process which involves numerous tasting sessions – all of these are vital, we promise!” explained Dominic.

“We have the necessary expertise, acquired over many years working in the Gulf to successfully introduce and support Irish and UK food companies in the region.

“Individual states have different needs and regulations but GIFT provides the essential support to ensure labelling, Halal certification and legal and health requirements are fulfilled. We know the rules, we know the markets and we know great food.”

Alongside numerous homes across the kingdom being regularly supplied many top class dining destinations have made a connection with customers including The British Club, Royal Golf Club, Jim’s restaurant and The Palace Hotel’s Masso and Polo Lounge, amongst others.
