THE annual Manchester United Soccer Schools (MUSS) programme organised by VIVA Bahrain, the official partner of Manchester United, has kicked off its fifth season offering Bahrain’s young footballers the oppportunity to make their dreams come true.
The initiative will see 22 young footballers travelling for a week-long camp in the UK, where they will get the chance to be trained by UEFA-certified coaches, and enjoy the ‘full unique Manchester United experience’.
VIVA CEO Ulaiyan Al Wetaid said: “We are proud of our partnership with Manchester United. Throughout the past four years, 2,000 talented youngsters have participated in the MUSS programme, with 95 boys and girls having had the experience to travel and develop their football skills at one of the best training camps in the world.
“This time, we are opening registrations to the public as we want to extend our reach to the wider community by creating a larger platform for young players to participate.”
This year, the campaign is open to all footballers, boys and girls, aged 12 to 15, who live in Bahrain. Registrations to participate are open until April 18 at the VIVA Manchester United Zone at City Centre Bahrain.
During the trial sessions, which the telecom company is calling ‘auditions’, every player will get an opportunity to showcase their skills, the organisers promise. The players will be evaluated on various parameters such as physical and technical attributes as well as individual skills.
The 22 finalists will win a week of expert football training sponsored by VIVA Bahrain, at the Manchester United Soccer Schools grounds in the UK, using state-of-the art training equipment and undergoing the same routine of the professional footballers, as well as taking part in training sessions at Carrington where the English Premiership side’s first team stars get match ready.
