City Centre Bahrain has teamed up with Bahraini actress Haifa Hussain, for a second year in a row, to urge shoppers to once again dig deep and open their hearts to the needy.

All items collected will be donated to The Islamic Association, a charitable and humanitarian local organisation, which supports families in the community. Visitors are urged to drop off donations in marked boxes located at the customer service desk on the ground floor in the Central Galleria.

For the past six years, mall owners Majid Al Futtaim Group, has been raising awareness about compassion, generosity and solidarity during the holy month by asking customers to donate clothes, eye glasses, books and non-perishable food to the less fortunate.

Duaij Khalifa Al Rumaihi, senior mall manager, said: “We hope visitors of all ages will come to City Centre Bahrain to celebrate in togetherness and to give generously to those in need.

“We are hosting the ‘Make a Difference this Ramadan’ charity campaign to strengthen the values of solidarity associated with Ramadan. We are grateful for the support of our campaign ambassador, talented actress Haifa Hussain.”

Keeping in line with the Ramadan theme, the mall will feature Arabesque-style decorations. Visitors will also be able to enjoy Arabic coffee and sweets, as well as Oud performances.

Gergaoun will be a special treat for children as they roam around the mall alongside a traditional band to collect goodies as well as giveaways from participating retailers.

In celebration of the Majid Al Futtaim’s 20th anniversary, the mall also featured prizes last Saturday in which 20 shoppers were randomly selected and received vouchers for complimentary Iftar and Suhour from the mall and participating food and beverage outlets.

The mall has extended hours for the first 20 days of Ramadan from 10am to 1am, and for the last 10 days, from 10am to 2am. For details, visit: www.Facebook.com/CityCentreBahrain
