Gulf Weekly Tankard and Jassim claim penultimate round

Stewart Tankard and playing partner Ali Jassim clinched first place in the penultimate competition of the Coca-Cola Monday Madness Night Golf Series at the Royal Golf Club with a nett score of 33.1.

Husband and wife David and Dena Wales took second place on 37.5 nett while fourth week runners-up, father and son Navid and Taimur Malik, came third with 37.7 nett.
Nearest the pin side contests on holes 12 and 16 were won by Dena Wales and Sun Kyu Kwak, respectively.

Father and son Ross and Justin Clewley, continue to top the series order of merit with 10 points with just one more competition to go. The duo of Ashley Price and Steve Middleton are in second place with nine points and the Maliks are in third place with seven points.

The Greensomes competition was rounded off with a prize presentation ceremony in the Members’ Lounge. Sheldon Cameron, the club’s golf operations manager, presented the prizes.

1st Steward Tankard & Ali Jassim (33.1 nett), 2nd David & Dena Wales (37.5), 3rd Navid & Taimur Malik (37.7), 4th Wayne Giles & Steve Middleton (38), 5th Iftikhar Butt & Dave Fernie (39.9). Nearest the Pins: Dena Wales (hole 12) & Sun Kyu Kwak (hole 16).
