MEMBERS of the VIVA squad from Bahrain took off this week to take part in a Manchester United Soccer Schools (MUSS) programme after being handpicked to travel to the UK following a series of trials.

They left for their summer trip of a lifetime on Sunday to experience a week-long training camp at the English club’s Carrington grounds. The young footballers will receive a fascinating insight into how the Premiership outfit prepares their youngsters for a possible future in the game.

Riffa Club star Mohammed A Qayoom Mohamed, 14, was the final player to join the party after winning ‘Bahrain’s first trickster’ competition after posting his clever football skills on the telecom company’s Instagram account and capturing the attention of visitors to the site.

He has joined 17 other boys and four girls – Jasim Hani Ebrahim, Yaseen Mohamed Husain, Hasan Taha Zaid, Muhanad Husain Al Sardeeh, Faris Khalo, Haidar Ali Husain, Hamad Mohamed Al Namlaiti, Sayed Jafar Ali, Mohammed Aqeel Salman, Ala Maher Assaf, Husain Ali Aleker, Blair Hopkins, Yassine Benmansour, Saleh Bader Bin Hayee, Abdulla Ali Fakhroo, Ali Mohamed Hasan, Mohamed Ebrahim Al Madani, as well as Erica Moolman, Suha Vajihe Faiz, Danielle Welkinson and Bruna Elias Vinos – on the adventure.
