Gulf Weekly Write to the editor

Every week, whenever I receive the GulfWeekly newspaper, I can’t wait to browse through especially the FashionWeekly section. It gives me an idea of the trends in town.

I am so amazed whenever I read articles regarding the new and great fashion concepts and designs especially if this comes from local Bahraini designers.

Because of this, I am truly inspired and I told myself that I will create my line and will be contributing to the fashion style the local way.

In this regard, I would like to express my sincere thanks for featuring me and my Spirit of Elegance collection.

I am so impressed on how you put things in your very creative way of writing and it is indeed an honour for me to be featured in your article. I read it over and over!

It boosts my confidence to be more creative and inspire others as well. I am hoping for your continued support to Bahraini designers like me.

I was so happy to hear from news reports that three women from Bahrain completed the 2015 Samsung Bosphorus Cross-Continental Swimming race organised by the Turkish Olympic Committee (TOC). They are truly doing the kingdom proud and are not letting the island’s sweltering heat get in the way.

Congratulations Nada Jamsheer, Karla Solano and Michele Colclough for the amazing times. These strong-willed women joined 1,870 swimmers from 49 countries in the traditional cross-continental swimming race held in Istanbul. The event encompassed a 6.5km open sea swim from Kanlica on the Asian side to Kuruçeşme Cemil Topuzlu Park on the European side of İstanbul.

Bahraini Nada recorded a time of one hour 36 minutes. Karla, from Mexico, completed the race in 1:43 and Michele, from the UK, finished it in 1:55.

Well done ladies!
