THE hotel sector in Juffair may already be fiercely-competitive, but Ramee Rose Hotel’s general manager, Ankush Sharma, believes that his latest project will become the area’s hospitality hotspot.

The Indian national has spent the last five months adjusting to life in the kingdom after spells with the Taj Group and Choice Group in his home country, and after overseeing the establishment’s grand opening in July, is busy preparing the hotel’s outlets for their unveiling later this year.

He said: “We have a really strong mix here, starting with the La Patisserie sit-down café next to the lobby, and moving up, we have our Asian restaurant Rauchi which will be open 24-hours and provide a breakfast buffet and Asian fusion lunch and dinner menus alongside our all-day dining options.

“Then, we have Kabayanze, a Filipino restaurant which will house a seven-piece band providing live entertainment while guests enjoy their meals. We really hope to appeal to the strong Filipino community in the area, so we have created an outlet to appeal to their tastes. No other hotel in Juffair has this combination.”

The Ramee Rose has 108 rooms, with a mixture of single, double and executive suites. All rooms have been designed to incorporate views of the sea and skyline.

There is an extensive spa, salon and health centre, featuring a variety of massages and treatments, while a gym and indoor swimming pool will appeal to guests looking to unwind by themselves.

Also in the pipeline is a sports bar named Time Café, which, at 5,500 square feet, will be one of the biggest in the area and have a design structure based around a stadium.

Ankush explained: “Our goal was to create a business-class, family-orientated hotel. Unlike most hotels in this area which targets one or the other, we wanted to have an establishment that families will want to visit and relax, but also have that air of luxury and efficiency that makes it a top-class destination for businesses.”

This mantra extends to the jewel in the hotel’s crown, Club XS, which is a lounge featuring an extensive lighting system. The hanging lights are synced to the music system, so every time the beat changes, or the bass rises or lowers, the lights change with perfect timing.

The walls are made of LED lights too, and are able to display messages such as ‘welcome’ or ‘happy birthday’ with a quick input on a keyboard.

Ankush said: “The nightlife in Bahrain is very competitive, so we have a specific target which is a 28-plus age group who are working at the top management level. We want to attract the more affluent clientele and offer a place for them to unwind after a busy week.”
