Mercedes-Benz this week unveiled three new concepts to add to its current roster of celebrated SUVs at an event at Al Haddad Motors’ showroom in Tubli.

The GLE class is replacing the bestselling ML class, the GLC will be superseding the GLK, while the GLE Coupe 63 will be a totally new model.

The new GLE blends tradition and modernity with a luxurious interior ambience and a sportier exterior design and is equipped with the best on-road and off-road handling in the marque’s history. Furthermore, new features include increased interior space and high levels of active and passive safety with driver assistance systems.

The Mercedes GLE Coupe 63 is an interpretation of a four-door SUV coupe with a heavy focus on exceptional agility, distinctive engine sound and typical sports car acceleration.

The GLC is much more spacious and refined than the GLK, focussing on a pure, modern aesthetic as opposed to the classic off-road look.

Graeme Newport, general manager of Al Haddad Motors, said: “The team is thrilled to be able to witness history. Mercedes-Benz is known for always leading the way, and in terms of technology and innovation, Mercedes is about five years ahead of the game. It is truly an honour to see historical events unfold for the automobile industry.”
