While this is the first Too Hot to Trot of the season, it is also my last as I say ‘Hi’ and ‘Bye’ and head to pastures new.
I will be handing the reins over to Jerri Taylor who is known to many in the local equine scene – and read her story in next week’s issue.
She aims to bring horse and pony lovers all the news, views, spills and thrills in the only dedicated newspaper column in the kingdom, so be sure to continue sharing your riding experiences with her, by initially emailing editor@gulfweekly.com
Certainly Twin Palms Riding Centre (TPRC) has got itself on track for some great events this season. The stables has held three pony camps, done some filming for Dressage Anywhere and held a fantastic Cowboy Show and Gymkhana.
That’s not all for October, as this weekend will see the stable host a ‘Spooktacular’ Show Jumping event. And, if the course does not scare riders, then the ‘Haunted House’ surely will!
One for the diary is the annual Twin Palms Riding Centre Open Day Extravaganza to be held on Friday, November 6, an all-day event which will feature pony rides for children and ‘have a go riding’ for adults, an Arabian Nights quadrille display, cowboys, side saddle demo, loads of stalls of all descriptions, so don’t miss it. For more information, check out its Facebook page.
TPRC will again be entering teams in the Bahrain Marathon Relay, so anyone interested in swapping riding boots for trainers should contact the stables for more information.

The Bahraini team, comprising riders Al Khatri, Shaikh Mohammed bin Mubarak Al Khalifa, Salim Sabt and Dana Al Binghadeer also clinched first place in the team contest which featured squads from 11 countries.
Representative of His Majesty for Charity Works and Youth Affairs, chairman of Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, president of Bahrain Olympic Committee and captain of Bahrain Royal Endurance Team Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa said that Bahrain’s victory in both individual and team events at the championship in Chile on Saturday will motivate more Bahraini riders to strive for glory at international level.

BREEF SHOW JUMPING 2015 / 2016
Breef have already started their season with the first of its training sessions, see Jerri’s first report.
The second training session will be held this coming Friday, starting at 4pm and be held as usual at the BDF Equestrian Centre in Sakhir.
There are two mixed competitions for Juniors and Adults, both special two-phase classes. Regular two-phase classes are run with competitors only being allowed into the second or jump-off phase of the round if they are clear over the first round/phase.
This special class allows competitors to continue into the jump-off phase even if they have accumulated faults in their first round.
