Many thanks for your recent coverage of our Thame Remembers project, in which we have challenged the community of our English market town to visit the grave of every man who has lost his life in military service and is remembered on a memorial in Thame, wherever in the world they may be.

As reported, one of our casualties, Warrant Officer Joseph Castle of the Royal Engineers, died whilst serving in the Cyprus conflict and is buried in the Old Christian Cemetery in Manama, and Adrian Dite, from Thame, has now confirmed that he will visit on Sunday to lay a Thame Remembers cross at Joseph’s grave following the 10.30am service.

On behalf of Adrian, the Thame Remembers project and the people of Thame, we would be honoured if any members of the congregation or the wider community might be able to join him to mark the occasion.

Inspire Bahrain’s Cats musical was absolutely fabulous and such a professional performance. It’s an amazing thing for Bahrain in terms of young people developing their skills and also sharing different cultural experiences. The lady called Anna who played Grizabella was phenomenal!

The Manama Singers are looking for pianists willing to help accompany us in some of our upcoming smaller carol concerts with audience participation at various clubs around Bahrain. We are a charity – and everything we do is to raise funds for charities in Bahrain – so payment is usually by means of a meal or hospitality! And the gratitude of a very friendly bunch of people! If you can help – please message me on 39503495. Many thanks!

L. Anna Thompson-Hall, Bahrain.
