H&M has released its holiday collection with Katy Perry as its ‘merry muse’ wearing all the fun and festive pieces for the full media campaign. The commercial spot has recently debuted and is airing worldwide.

It is the ultimate celebration of the season and Katy brings to life the unbelievable cast of characters, from life-sized gingerbread men to oversized presents on roller skates and giant teddy bears. The soundtrack to the commercial is Every Day Is a Holiday, a new song written by Katy for the Holiday commercial, and produced by Duke Dumont.

“I had such an amazing time shooting this larger-than-life holiday commercial with Jonas Åkerlund with all of the fun clothes, especially my favourite, the Elfie Selfie sweater. H&M has been a part of the evolution of my personal style since I was 13, when I started to incorporate fun, affordable H&M pieces into my vintage wardrobe. I can’t wait for you to give your wardrobe some sparkle with this beautiful holiday collection,” said Perry.

The holiday collection mixes festive glamour, style and fun. It includes pieces such as lipstick-red dresses, tuxedos with open sleeves and a T-shirt embroidered with sequined red bows. There are special details everywhere, from the fringing on a black mini skirt to the perfect jumper.

You will also find the ‘far-from-tacky’ Christmas sweater, the ultimate key piece this season and can be dressed up or down for cozy nights at home with friends. These pieces are super cute and the choices are endless – jacquard knits, sequinned reindeers, glitter hearts and graphic printed jumpers with ‘Want it All’ or ‘How about Snow?’ statements.

These can be paired with flirty skirts, leather pants or denim. The prices are the usual ‘wallet friendly’ kind which is to be expected from this fast fashion brand. The holiday season does not have to break your budget and if you choose wisely you can grab the pieces that can be worn during this festive time and recycle them next year.

H&M has committed to supporting the children in Myanmar with specially-designed gift cards. For each card bought, the H&M Conscious Foundation will donate five per cent of the price to UNICEF. It will then use the money to provide quality education for vulnerable children in Myanmar, where there is urgent need to improve access to basic education.

Through the gift card campaign, UNICEF and the H&M Conscious Foundation aim to directly reach more than 350,000 children with quality primary and lower secondary school education in the Rakhine State. The gift cards will be available in H&M stores globally until December 31.
