the Bahrain Open

Following the successful running of the 23rd Bahrain Ladies Open last weekend, Awali Golf Club and Bapco are pleased to confirm that the 53rd Bahrain Open Championship will take place this weekend.

The event is open to men, professional and amateur, with handicaps up to and including 12 with a maximum field of 108 players, which will include the top golfers from Bahrain and entrants from the Gulf region and Europe.

Bahrain’s own Nasser Yacoub, a six-times winner and the 2015 Open champion, will return to defend his title.

English professional and five-times champion, Andy Marshall, will play, as will Scottish professional, David Park, who was the winner in 2004 and AGC’s former club professional. AGC’s current head professional, Matt Chalmers, will also be taking part.

Spectators are welcome to follow their favourite players around the course. Admission is free. Competitors will be teeing off from 7am each day.
