Seasons Hotel Bahrain Bay

Diners dressed up in style and put on their dancing shoes for a night of jazz, swing and fine dining at the popular waterside venue.

The entrance lobby as well as the Al Bahrain Ballroom was cleverly decked out with fabulous black and white photographic imagery of New York as part of the theme with cool hats and bead necklaces on the tables for the guests to wear.

Members of The Swing Revue took to the stage on their second visit to the kingdom, and soon had the all-jazzed up mob-style party swinging.

Guests were treated to a mixture of jazz melodies ranging from the 1920s to the 1950s, including Bear Necessities, Down by the Riverside and When the Saints Go Marching In, with original compositions thrown in for good measure.

Charismatic vocalist Laura Ingham was backed superbly by trumpet player Dean Pratt.

Lakshmi Ramirez on double bass, pianist Artie Poghosyan, brilliant banjo plucker Eric Bernabe and drummer Janelle Bernado. The Dubai-based band’s clever jazzy takes on modern hits such as All About the Bass and Here’s my Number were truly inspirational.

The three-course culinary treats included a Twenty’s Sampler Starter featuring Balik Salmon Fumee, a soft-boiled egg with truffle espuma, basil goat cheese terrine, duck rillettes crostini and pickled red mullet, a beef tenderloin ‘en croute’ main course, followed by a rhubarb and golden apple cobbler dessert, with accompanying beverages.

A brilliant night made even better by the stunning display of fancy footwork on the dance floor.
