Young Bahraini golfers Ali Al Kowari and Yusuf Janahi proved unbeatable in the final competition of the six-week long Porsche Monday Madness Night Golf Series at the Royal Golf Club, winning the overall Order of MMerit title with 11 points.
Despite not finishing in the top five in the final Vegas Stableford competition, two second place finishes and one third place finish were enough to give the duo the title.
Rob Lane and playing partner Nils Berge came second on the leader board with 9.5 points while Khalifa Daij and Khalifa Al Merisi, last week’s winners, came third with 9 points in total.
A full field of 44 players competed in the closely fought final competition of the series which was won by Sanjay Lal and Tapan Vaidya with a score of 26 nett on count back.
Mohammed Akeel and playing partner Iftikhar Butt came second on the same score and Steven Foster and Brian Bridgeford finished third, also with 26 nett. Nearest the pin side contests on holes 12 and 16 were won by Steven Hill and Khalifa Daij respectively.
The evening was rounded off with a prize presentation ceremony in the club’s Members’ Lounge where Collin Sattar, brand manager for Porsche Centre Bahrain, handed over the prizes.

1st Ali Al Kowari & Yusuf Janahi (11 points), 2nd Rob Lane & Nils Berge (9.5), 3rd Khalifa Daij & Khalifa Al Merisi (9).

A new series of one-off events, Monday Night Lights, has now started. The fun competitions will feature a number of different formats including skins games, individual stablefords, par 3 competitions on the Montgomerie championship course and PowerPlay events. The 9 hole competitions will continue to be open to all with a BD2 entry fee plus green fee for non-members and will tee off with 6.30pm shotgun starts.
