The eighth edition of the Bahrain Summer Festival, themed Your Destination Bahrain, is continuing with a line-up of activities staged at the Cultural Hall for the entire family to enjoy.

The month-long event is part of a larger initiative aimed at promoting the kingdom as a pioneering hub for cultural tourism, both regionally and globally.

Tomorrow, a musical tribute concert to celebrate singer Najat Al-Saghera will be staged, organised in cooperation with the Egyptian Embassy. It will start at 8pm with a minimum age of attendance of 10. The concert will feature a selection of Najat’s greatest hits, including her best-known ballads.

The festival wraps up on August 4 with Spanish singer and choreographer Luis de la Carrasca and his Flamenco Vivo Company. The dance and musical show, open to children aged 10 and above, is being held in cooperation with the French Embassy and Alliance Francaise. It starts at 8pm.

The Nakhool Tent, located near the National Museum, will also provide a fun environment for children and adults with a full programme of interactive workshops, events and competitions with festival mascots, Nakhool and Nakhoola.

All festival shows are free and open to the public. An exhibition continues at the Bahrain National Museum celebrating the strong civil and military aviation heritage between Bahrain and the UK. The centrepiece is a Supermarine Spitfire, which first flew 80 years ago. The exhibition runs until October 23.

The Al Hosh Kids For All Seasons Summer Camp runs until September 30 and provides children aged four to 12 with a range of activities such as cooking classes, swimming, dancing, sports and outdoor activities. It will take place at the Four Seasons Hotel Bahrain Bay, from 9am-6pm Sunday to Wednesday and 9am-8.30pm Thursday to Satruday. The prices vary depending on how many days and activities kids sign up for. One day is BD35, a week is BD160 with lunch, and a month is BD400 with lunch.

Keep the children entertained with a summer camp at ART Rotana on Sunday, Tuesday and Thursday from 9.30am to 3pm at BD18 net for those aged six to 14. They can splash around in the waterpark or take part in arts and crafts. Lunch is also included.

ART Rotana also offers swimming lessons Saturday to Wednesday from 5.30pm to 6.30pm at BD10 per lesson.

The Berlitz Bahrain Summer Camp runs until August 30 and provides children aged five to 15 with a range of activities such as learning a new language, taekwondo and art and cooking classes. It’s organised by Berltiz Bahrain and Bodyline Fitness Centre and the activities will take place between their locations in Budaiya and Saar. The prices vary depending on how many days and activities kids sign up for. One week is priced at BD60 and a month costs BD200.

Bollywood Steps Dance Studio is organising a dance and fitness camp for children until August 31 at Ramli Mall in A’ali and at Somerset Al Fateh in Juffair.
