Gulf Weekly Fernie and Wells double act secures the honours in a late-night session

Dave Fernie and Adam Wells won last week’s Monday Night Lights competition at the Royal Golf Club with a nett score of 29. Iftikhar Butt and playing partner Tapan Vaidya came a close second with a score of 30 nett while husband and wife Rob and Debbie Lane clinched third place on count back with a score of 32 nett.

Around 20 golfers took part in the ‘two player shambles’ tournament which was played on the back 9 holes of the club’s challenging Montgomerie championship course.

The competition was rounded off with a prize presentation ceremony in the club’s Members’ Lounge where Sohail Singh, the Royal Golf Club’s tournament coordinator, was on hand to present the prizes.

The Monday Night Lights competitions take place every Monday evening. The competitions are open to non-members at a cost of BD20 per night green fee, plus a BD2 entry fee which goes into the prize pool.

The events tee-off with a 6.30pm shotgun start. To register for the next event email golfevents@theroyalgolfclub.com
