Applications are now being accepted for photographers of any skill level for a chance to showcase their work at the Malja Photography Open Call Exhibition, launching in October. The Royal Golf Club’s executive chef Paul Gindra has introduced a new treat to the weekly dining specials available at Links restaurant. Tuesdays are now ‘all you can eat ribs’ days with unlimited succulent barbecued ribs for BD12 net per person. For table bookings, call 17751262.

A series of performing arts workshops will be staged until August 25 at the Arts Centre in Manama.

The 7th Wave workshops are open to children aged six to 16 and will cover theatre and dance from 9am to 2pm. There will also be poetry readings during the lunch-break, as well as guest artists meeting the pupils.

There will be a separate classes for dance and theatre. The programme is priced at BD100 per week or BD260 for all three weeks. A discount will apply if parents register more than one child.

The Gulf Hotel Bahrain will be hosting its biggest Oktoberfest yet on September 29.

Ali Amralla, director of business development & strategies, said: “This event promises all the authentic elements, from the décor to the outfits, and the traditional Oktoberfest buffet which will include authentic German sausages, better known as wursts, specialty sauerkraut and lots of hearty roast potatoes.”

Live entertainment will come from the Lasterbacher Musikanten Band, who have been flown in from Germany for the celebrations.

An exhibition continues at the Bahrain National Museum celebrating the strong civil and military aviation heritage between Bahrain and the UK. The centrepiece is a Supermarine Spitfire, which first flew 80 years ago.

The exhibition runs until October 23.

The Bahrain International Property Exhibition, BIPEX 2016, will take place on November 3-5 at the Bahrain International Exhibition and Convention Centre.

R&B artist Mohombi will be performing at Ibrida Lounge, Ramee Grand Hotel & Spa, on August 25, from 7pm.

He is a Swedish-Congolese singer-songwriter and dancer. He grew up in Kista near Stockholm. From 2000 to 2008 Mohombi was part of the Swedish hip hop group Avalon with his brother Djo. Mohombi released his debut solo single Bumpy Ride in 2010 which wcharted Top 10 in several countries.
