Gulf Weekly's Editor Stan Szecowka has been enjoying himself (a little too much, perhaps) for the last month back in England while his minions have been holding the fort in Bahrain. While said minions have enjoyed the peaceful tranquillity of the office without terrible 1960s pop anthems blaring from his office (usually punctuated with the odd barked order), they certainly weren’t afforded such a luxury on New Year’s Day.
Waking up bleary-eyed at the crack of dawn after curtailing their celebrations early the night before (apart from Kristian, with whom 5am bed times are commonplace anyway), the team were greeted with numerous voice notes of Stan’s karaoke act, with accompanying pictures of him gleefully enjoying his New Year’s Eve disco-themed party. Just what they needed after dragging themselves in on a public holiday to tie the paper up before deadline!
However, as the holders of the keys to the kingdom for one more week, the minions have decided to execute their revenge without the threat of editorial veto … as seen here for readers to enjoy. Kristian Cowell, Mai Scherzinger and Zahid Walsh say: “It’s three no’s from us!”
