The annual Autumn Fair is set to open its doors to shoppers from January 25 to February 2 at the Bahrain International Exhibition & Convention Centre. The nine-day shopping extravaganza is in its 28th edition and will be featuring a variety of textiles, electronics, lighting fixtures, carpets, jewellery, specialty foods and furnishings spread over an area of 16,000sq/m in three halls.

Last year, more than 200,000 visitors from Bahrain, Saudi Arabia and neighbouring countries flocked to the festival which featured more than 750 exhibitors from 21 countries. Entry to the Fair is 800fils. Children under the age of nine will be admitted for free.

The exhibition will be open daily to the public on January 25 from 12pm – 10pm, on January 26 from 10am – 2pm and 4pm to 10pm, on January 27 from 12pm – 10pm and on January 28 from 10am – 2pm and 4pm – 10pm. On January 29 and January 30, it’s open to ladies only in the morning from 10am – 2pm and then to the public from 4pm – 10pm. On January 31 it’s open from 10am – 2pm and 4pm – 10pm. Then on February 1 and 2 it’s open from 10am to 10pm.

The Bahrain Breast Cancer Society presents a national and international perspective of breast cancer detection and screening event on Saturday at the Sheraton Bahrain Hotel. It is held under the patronage of H E Shaikh Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, the chairman of the Supreme Council of Health. Professor Randah Ribhi Hamadeh will discuss Breast Cancer Epidemiology in Bahrain, Dr Najat Mohammed Abdulfateh will talk about Cancer Registration.  Keynote speaker Dr Sankaranarayan will share his perspective on the International Agency for Research on Cancer of the World Health Organisation and where Bahrain fits in.

Multi-Platinum recording artist Bryan Adams is set to rock Bahrain on March 13 at the Bahrain International Circuit as part of his ‘The Get Up Tour’. The Middle East leg of the tour consists of shows in Bahrain, Qatar and the United Arab Emirates.
