Luxury Swiss watch manufacture, Zenith Watches, recently launched its brand new, cutting-edge timepieces El Primero Tourbillon Skeleton and El Primero Skeleton.

The watches have a 45mm black ceramic frame, a skeleton dial and an impressive architectural display showcasing the details of its mechanisms.

The first combines a tourbillon rotating frame for the escapement, which is used to cancel or reduce the effects of gravitational bias to the timekeeping, with a high frequency chronograph.

Meanwhile the second showcases like a classic ‘El Primero’ chronograph which is revealed through a deep black open worked dial enlivened by
red accents.

Their swift-paced 5 Hz cadence drives the ruthenium-blackened, facetted and luminescent hands sweeping over matching hour-markers. Open worked counters and a minute ring screw secured to the movement enhance this three dimensional display.

The tourbillon carriage performing one rotation per minute is offset at 11 o’clock, while the open worked chronograph counters form a figure eight. Also beating at 36,000 vibrations per hour and enabling a tenth-of-a-second display is the El Primero Skeleton.

Its chronograph movement powers central hours and minutes, small seconds and even date functions. Both models have an over 50-hour power reserve. The strong character of these pieces is accentuated by a black rubber strap perforated for the tourbillon version and carbon fibre-coated for the chronograph.

It is also fitted with a titanium and black PVD-treated triple folding clasp. Zenith has been bringing watchmaking to the world for more than 150 years and was founded in Le Locle by Georges Favre-Jacot. The brand gained swift recognition for the precision of its chronometers which has won them 2,333 awards.
